Look closely at that magazine story. It’s a profile of Chef Vivian Howard in the June issue of Southern Living magazine. Howard owns the Chef & the Farmer restaurant in Kinston, N.C., and is the star of the PBS show “A Chef’s Life.”
So what’s her connection to Campbell University?
She’s the daughter of Scarlett and John Howard, 1960 graduates of Campbell and members of the Presidential Board of Advisers. Her sister is Johna Howard Casey, a 1996 graduate of the Campbell Law School.
The publicist for “A Chef’s Life” asked Howard supporters to take a photo of themselves with the article. In the photo above, members of the Campbell advancement and administration team pose with the profile. What better backdrop than our camel? The pride runs deep at Campbell and the ties spread wide.

@campbelledu beautiful! What an amazing connection. Roots run deep with #achefslife
