Photos of the week: The 1990 Campbell University baseball team lost 25 of its first 30 games, but the Camels went on to win the Big South title that year and earn an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament, the first in program history.

The squad was sent to the Palo Alto regional hosted by Stanford University. Though they fell to the Cardinal 7-0 and to Southern Illinois 8-7, according to the 1991 Pine Burr student yearbook, the Camels won “the hearts of fans” and “Campbell T-shirts were reportedly the hottest selling item in Palo Alto.”

The 2014 Campbell baseball squad bounced back from losing its opening game in the Big South tournament this past weekend to claim its third Big South conference title and its second trip to the NCAA tournament. The Camels open play in the tournament Friday at 7 p.m. against South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
